Cleaning Out Your Pantry — How to Set Up Your Kitchen for Success!
Spring is upon us. That means warmer weather, more time outdoors, and of course, Spring Cleaning. This time of year, is also perfect for setting your kitchen up for success.
As we know, eating balanced meals is key to achieving our weight loss goals, as is having a plan, and a well-organized pantry. While organizing your kitchen and pantry may sound like a hefty undertaking — there’s no need to feel overwhelmed — we have a solution for you!
First, recognize that it’s actually much easier to eat clean and balanced than trying to follow an app or navigate through the endless choices of diet and processed foods.
One of the best things you can do for yourself is to feed your body the right foods to achieve overall good health, build a strong immune system, and yes, to lose weight.
However, if you have fallen into the trap of eating processed foods, low-fat, low-calorie diet foods, or even skipping meals, now’s the time to get back to the basics.
Take the necessary time to organize and declutter your kitchen or you may get discouraged if you don’t have a food on hand that you want. By doing this, you will get your kitchen (and yourself) ready and motivated, and you’ll find it easier to put together the healthy meals you like.
Next, organize your freezer so all your food groups are together (meats, vegetables, etc.) Keep in mind, your freezer may also have items that have been in there for too long, or you may be keeping foods like ice cream and frozen meals that can sabotage you.
Now’s the perfect time to take control and remember your health and weight loss goals are more important than holding onto comfort foods.
